Trans Advocacy Organisation Africa (TAOA) is a community-based organization in Kenya dedicated to supporting transgender, intersex, and gender non-conforming (ITGNC) refugees, asylum seekers, and displaced persons. TAOA is a Trans-led organisation that was founded in 2022 as a support group, TAOA provides holistic support services to address unique challenges faced by ITGNC individuals, including those at risk of violence, discrimination, and social exclusion.

Our Objectives
1. Safe Housing and Shelter Support
We provide emergency and transitional shelter for ITGNC individuals at risk of homelessness or violence. We maintain safe spaces where individuals can access comprehensive support services to rebuild their lives.2. Emergency Support Services
We deliver urgent medical care, food, clothing, and other essentials to ITGNC refugees and asylum seekers. We respond promptly to crises affecting ITGNC individuals, ensuring immediate relief and ongoing support.3. Comprehensive Healthcare Access
We partner with local health authorities to ensure access to culturally sensitive and inclusive healthcare services. We conduct outreach programs providing health education and sexual and reproductive health services tailored to ITGNC individuals.4. Mental Health and Psychosocial Support
We provide counseling, therapy, and peer support groups to address the emotional and mental health needs of ITGNC individuals. We train mental health professionals to understand and affirm the unique challenges of the ITGNC community.5. Leadership Development and Community Capacity Building
We conduct leadership and advocacy training for ITGNC individuals to foster community mobilization and resilience. We offer vocational training and workshops to empower individuals to become self-reliant and active contributors to their communities.6. Stigma Reduction and Sensitization
